If your herb garden is anything like mine then you know exactly what I mean when I say, "What am I going to do with all of this basil?"
All summer long, aside from harvesting and drying the leaves for later use in recipes and teas, I'm continuously plucking a few leaves off here and there as I need them in the kitchen. I'm a huge fan of cooking with fresh herbs! They add so much flavor and zing to my recipes and the kitchen smells absolutely amazing while I'm preparing meals.
If you've already dried a stockpile of leaves for the winter, because remember you only want to store enough to last until next year's harvest, and you're still wondering just exactly what to do with your remaining fresh basil then give any pesto recipe a try. It will use a nice amount of leaves and hopefully inspire you to cook even more with this prolific herb.
