Looking for a new innovative painting class unlike anything you’ve experienced before? Artist and composer Cheryl Kaldahl may have just what you’re looking for. Her new class, Painting the Music, offers participants the opportunity to learn how to interpret a piece of music, and then translate it visually into a painting.
Beginning with a preselected piece of music, Cheryl will guide students through the music allowing them to learn and experience its mood, dynamics, rhythm, movement, and instrumentation. Instruction on acrylic painting techniques of a simple subject, along with a coordinating mood color palette, reflecting their musical findings will be given. Afterwards, while listening to the piece of music, students will create a painting, based on their musical observations and experiences, using these new painting techniques.
