PAINTING THE MUSIC
Cheryl Kaldahl's new Painting the Music class offers participants the opportunity to learn how to interpret a piece of music, and then translate it visually into a painting.
Beginning with a preselected piece of music, students will be guided through the music allowing them to learn and experience its mood, dynamics, rhythm, movement, and instrumentation. Instruction on acrylic painting techniques of a simple subject, along with a coordinating mood color palette, reflecting their musical findings will be given. Afterwards, while listening to the piece of music, students will create a painting, based on their musical observations and experiences, using these new painting techniques.
